Look Beyond The Horizon
Nullarbor is the nervous centre of Australia. It is where there is nothing, but everything at the same time. It connects the vastness to all other terrains and lands in Australia.
Nullarbor exudes mystery and spans across states. It makes you realise that time is precious, and every second counts. It is home to the best sunsets and sunrises in the country with plentiful Australian native flora and fauna.
Look beyond the horizon and be overcome with the feeling of vastness and realise potential. With each sunrise there is a new beginning and a close to a chapter as the sun sets. I am here at the centre of everything, waiting for that perfect sunrise. I am Nullarbor.
The Nullarbor Plains
The Nullarbor Plain is a vast, flat and treeless region of the South Australian outback. The Plains stretch a wide 1100km East to West, and are located in the Great Australian Bight. Filled with small shrubbery, eclectic wildlife and striking landscapes, the Nullarbor represents the likely image of Australia that people think of when the country comes to mind.
Nullarbor means no trees in Latin, a sentiment that is echoed through the traditional name for the region "Oondiri"," which means waterless. Historically, the regional was seasonally inhabited by the Mirning clans and the Yinyila people. These days you'll see the odd road-train, campervan and national park ranger.
A place with a vast history and natural diversity, the Plains were the perfect place to take inspiration for the design and naming of Nullarbor Watch.
